Hi Karsten,
You shouldn't have to restart, but the fact that restarting clears
the problem is useful information.
For anyone else who is having problems with serial numbers sticking,
can you please send us:
1) The unique ID displayed by Camera Identifier (so we can generate
you a new S/N)
2) Any files you have in "/Library/Application
Support/IOXperts/Device Keys/" (so we can see if there's any reason
for the problem).
