Strange files on / again

Hi Ed (and others),

We're finally to where this is one of the highest priority remaining
bugs -- has anyone seen this problem in a recent beta with 10.5.4?

I'm pretty sure the problem is Leopard-specific and I can no longer
reproduce it here (although it's always been difficult to trigger).

Can anyone give me steps to reproduce this?

Thanks,

-Steve
