latest beta crashes quicktime

Hi,
I am trying to run the latest beta on a powerbook g4 running 10.5.2  
with a logitech quick sphere AF.
The camera is successfully identified. When I open a new movie for  
recording in quicktime (or video viewer) IOXesperts register is  
launched. Now quicktime crashes, as well as the register app. Any  
ideas what is going on here? Can I provide any other details?
