Update: Problems with Oricoco silver

Just because it was sitting there, I inserted the card and it powered 
right up and connected to my network.  The connection lasted for about 
2 minutes until there was a burst of activity indicated by the LED.  
Then the pref pane reported that the network was out of range.  I 
clicked 'apply now' and the power LED on the card went out and the pref 
pane reported once again <Searching for Network...>.  Now it is back to 
just flashing the LED's.

I don't know...
